MUSIC SPOTLIGHT: Why You Need to Be in Love with FKA Twigs.
Formerly Known As Twigs is one of the most daring artists to be introduced into the music industry in a while. Twigs adds a new spin on the growing alternative R&B genre with heavily produced tracks that are loaded with layers of bass, instrumentals and sound effects.
Hailing from the UK ,Twigs began her artistic career as a dancer at the age of 17. Not only a singer, Twigs also directs, has been featured in several magazine spreads including V Magazine, and takes part in producing all of her songs. Her music videos are always fluent and captivating and show off her "dark" creative flair.
In an interview with Rolling Stone Twigs admits to loving “things that are harsh and things that are too loud." Her breathy vocals and dramatic fashion statements are a testament to this statement. Twigs has already been making waves in the music industry for a few years. Even though she detests the idea of fame, “the thought of being a famous person...It's just not me,” her work ethic and unique music style is getting global attention. Twigs will only continue to create phenominal music and projects.

1. She is a multi-talented artist: So many artists today only hold the title. Do they really create or are they robots that are pretending to have talent? Falling into the demands of pop culture and what labels think will make profit is the quick claim-to-fame formula many 'artists' take. FKA twigs is a producer, song-writer, dancer, vocalist, model and self proclaimed "massive geek". It's one thing to create, but its another to have a vision and be able to bring those visions to life. Love her because she is a true artist.
2. Her edges are always on fleek!: Love her because her hair is always breathtaking.
3. Daring Fashion choices: "I look like an anime character, but inside, I feel like a warrior. Like a female mother-earth warrior in a tribe in Africa or a rainforest that we haven't discovered yet." I couldn't think of a better description for her style. I think Twigs has a look all her own, and it's something to be celebrated. Love her because you wish you had her closet.
3. Her Latest album, ‘LP1’, is genius: After releasing two Extended play projects, 'EP1' and 'EP2', Twigs put out LP1 in August of 2014. It seems that she is slowly working her way up to a full length album. (which I will be looking forward to!) Every track on this record has a mesmerizing and hypnotic vibe.
